For those of you who are perplexed, the Perplexed piece is one of our guest authors, my cousin Katharine Fisher Britton. Writing seems to run on both sides of our family, so I have invited her to share her work with us. It is a strange thing, the elder members of our family, most of our parents have passed away, leaving us, the cousins, suddenly the elders. On my father's side, we still have our Uncle Paul and his wife Kathleen, and the Parkers still have a few of their WWII generation. It is my intention to use this blog to allow all of us to maintain some contact. We all have stories to share, and it is vital that our younger generation hear that oral history. If you are a family member and would like to post, feel free, if you would like to have guest author status, just email me so I can set it up. All topics are welcome. Enjoy, ellen

If only I was related...Better check the genealogy charts back a few hundred decades! Who knows what I would dig up.

  • time to clean up
This year we walked in honor of my mom's recent death from Ovarian Cancer. There were three groups, the EKA, the JFK student council, and the O Ambassadors. Together we all raised some serious bucks. It was a truly beautiful experience, one that allowed me to shoo away some of my sorrow. I appreciate all the work that the various teams put into walk, and look forward to walking again in the future. The only drawback was that I got some kind of hideous bacterial infection from the dunk tank. Oh well. It was fun to be in the dunk tank, and despite the infection, I would have stayed in that tank for an hour or more as there seemed to be lots of people ready to put me in the water. Thank you all, for the fund raising, the organizing, the dunking, and all the laughs.
